The City of Highland Village is seeking a skilled Administrative Assistant to join our Parks & Recreation Department. This role is vital in providing administrative and customer support, helping to enhance the quality of life in our vibrant, family-focused community in southern Denton County. Under the guidance of the Director of Parks and Recreation, you will manage departmental programs, track budget reports, and ensure compliance with procurement procedures. Your expertise in organization and documentation will support the smooth operation of the department, contributing to our mission of serving the residents of Highland Village.
In addition to administrative duties, you will oversee front desk operations, including processing payments, handling reservations, and managing records. Your strong communication skills will be essential in addressing inquiries from the public and assisting with special events. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual who is passionate about community engagement and eager to contribute to the success of Highland Village’s Parks & Recreation Department.
High school diploma or GED, supplemented by three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in performing administrative support work. Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and various types of software including: word processing, presentation, spreadsheets and graphics. Ability to type 50 wpm. Experience or formal education in recreation as well as background working with volunteer and large community groups preferred.
Must possess or be able to acquire First Aid and CPR certification within the first three (3) months of hire date.
