The City of Highland Village provides safe and reliable water services to our vibrant, family-oriented community of approximately 17,000 residents. Our Utilities Division is responsible for maintaining over 100 miles of water and sanitary sewer lines, lift stations, and essential treatment and pumping equipment. We are seeking a Utilities Supervisor to lead our dedicated team in ensuring the continued efficiency and safety of our water and wastewater systems.
As a Utilities Supervisor, you will oversee personnel responsible for maintaining and repairing the city’s water and wastewater utility infrastructure. This role includes scheduling and supervising work crews, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining accurate records of completed work. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a strong background in utility system maintenance and a commitment to public safety.
Essential Job FunctionsSupervise crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
Operate and oversee the use of equipment such as backhoes, jet machines, tapping machines, and water/sewer locators.
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of lift stations, pumps, motors, fire hydrants, and related infrastructure.
Monitor and respond to SCADA system alerts, including remote monitoring when on call.
Perform and supervise bacteriological and chemical testing to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Maintain detailed records of work performed and submit reports on progress and completed projects.
Enforce workplace safety measures and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
Address resident concerns related to water pressure, service disruptions, or contamination issues.
Function as Interim Utilities Superintendent as needed.

Salary : $64,507 - $70,958
