GENERAL DESCRIPTIONPerforms a broad range of technical pool maintenance and custodial services necessary to maintain aquatic facilities in a sanitary and orderly condition.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESRegular attendance is required to perform the duties of this position.Daily and regular cleaning of all restroom fixtures, including floors and stalls.Litter control inside and outside of the facility’s fences.Remove weeds from all areas within and around aquatic facilities.Sweeping and debris removal on all concrete areas both inside and outside the facility.Cleaning and maintenance to amenities located in and around the aquatic facility, including but not limited to the pavilions, offices, lockers, deck furniture, water fountains and planter beds and boxes. Assists in providing necessary maintenance to the pool and deck areas surrounding the pool, including but not limited to vacuuming, dipping, skimming and drain cleaning.Daily communication with management regarding activities at the facility.Maintain order, anticipate problems and take necessary steps to prevent or defuse problems in the aquatic facility. Maintain accurate inventory of all cleaning and necessary supplies.Daily monitoring of pool chemical and circulation levels.Maintaining a clean and orderly chemical/pump room.Assists in inspecting all equipment daily for safety hazards.Complete larger projects during off season months.Assist in special events put on by the Parks and Recreation Department.Clean and maintain splash pads and surrounding areas.Other duties as assigned.WORK BEHAVIORSFollow and comply with all instructions given by supervisory staff and chain of command.Exhibit a positive attitude and display appropriate conduct.Create positive relationships with the public, co-workers and supervisors and treat all persons with appropriate respect.Comply with work schedule and fulfill job responsibility commitments.Complete job assignments in a conscientious and thorough manner.Adhere to Laws, Department and Division policies and procedures and support organization objectives.Listen with comprehension and communicate accurately, clearly, and concisely to facilitate an efficient operation.Comply with safety rules and appropriately maintain and use equipment and material.Maintain confidentiality of matters relating to the City at all times.Demonstrate self-initiative in performing routine tasks as in accordance with standard operating procedures and standard operating guidelines.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and chain of command.Be able to work with employees from other departments as well as outside contractors.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate controls and reach with upper and lower body and hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to balance, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals.The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office and moderately loud when in the field.
