Performs a broad range of technical pool maintenance and custodial services necessary to maintain aquatic facilities in a sanitary and orderly condition.
Any combination of education and knowledge equivalent to a high school background. Previous grounds or building maintenance experience preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office and moderately loud when in the field.
- Regular attendance is required to perform the duties of this position.
- Daily and regular cleaning of all restroom fixtures, including floors and stalls.
- Litter control inside and outside of the facility's fences.
- Remove weeds from all areas within and around aquatic facilities.
- Sweeping and debris removal on all concrete areas both inside and outside the facility.
- Cleaning and maintenance to amenities located in and around the aquatic facility, including but not limited to the pavilions, offices, lockers, deck furniture, water fountains and planter beds and boxes.
- Providing necessary maintenance to the pool and deck areas surrounding the pool, including but not limited to vacuuming, dipping, skimming and drain cleaning.
- Daily communication with management regarding activities at the facility.
- Maintain order, anticipate problems and take necessary steps to prevent or defuse problems in the aquatic facility.
- Maintain accurate inventory of all cleaning and necessary supplies.
- Daily monitoring of pool chemical and circulation levels.
- Maintaining a clean and orderly chemical/pump room.
- Inspect all equipment daily for safety hazards.
- Complete larger projects during off season months.
- Assist in special events put on by the Parks and Recreation Department.
- Clean and maintain splash pads and surrounding areas.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Skill in operation of listed equipment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, participants, instructors and the general public; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to give and understand oral instructions.
- Ability to learn pool mechanical systems.
- Ability to learn splash pad mechanical systems.
- Be certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED or have the ability to obtain these certifications.
- Have a CPO certification or the ability to obtain one.
- Valid State issued Driver's License.
