Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Superintendent to oversee grounds maintenance and operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for groundskeeping, including expertise in lawn care, tree care and greens maintenance. This role is essential for ensuring the aesthetic quality and health of our grounds while managing a team of skilled workers.
Duties
· Oversee the course, including grounds, facilities, maintenance and buildings
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations of grounds maintenance activities, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Oversee the irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and techniques are implemented.
- Lead a team in performing groundskeeping tasks including lawn care, tree care, and greens maintenance.
· Adhere to policies, procedures and budget constraints as determined by the director of Parks and Recreation and the City Council
- Conduct regular inspections of course grounds to assess health, appearance, and maintenance needs.
· Plan, recommend and implement course renovations
- Train staff on best practices in grounds maintenance techniques and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress.
· Prepare monthly reports for City Council and submit to Parks and Recreation Director.
Qualifications
- Experience in landscape maintenance or related field with a focus on supervising teams.
- Strong knowledge of groundskeeping practices including irrigation systems, lawn care techniques, tree care methods, and greens management.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Ability to maintain equipment and tools used in grounds maintenance effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.
