The potential candidate will play a key role in the following duties:
- Oversee, coordinate and monitor assigned Community Relations Specialist functions and activities for the Summer Food Service Program.
- Serve as a liaison between the department and the community, requiring a high level of tact and cooperation.
- Plan, develop and implement procedures to meet state regulations and program guidelines.
- Responsible for site visits, preparation and verification of daily, weekly and special reports.
- Conduct orientation, training, development and evaluation of staff.
- Assist with maintaining inventory control and marketing the program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Requires an Associate's degree in Business Administration, Management or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Two years of experience in coordinating and managing community programs and activities are required.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
May require a Valid Driver's License and compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving (AP 2-2).
PREFERENCES
Applicants with experience in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook are preferred.
