Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Recreation Department team as a Youth Recreation Program Coordinator.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and leading recreational activities and programs for youth, ensuring a positive and engaging experience for participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement youth recreation programs, including sports leagues, holiday programs, arts and crafts, educational workshops, and after-school activities
- Establish partnerships with schools, community groups, and local businesses to enhance program quality and reach
- Oversee program scheduling, participant registration, and facility operations, ensuring smooth coordination between activities and facilities
- Manage vendor and equipment relationships, ensuring timely procurement and maintenance of necessary items
- Monitor and manage inventory, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure timely allocation of resources
- Assist with grant writing and fundraising efforts to support program growth and special events
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies, or related field
- 2 years of experience in recreation program management, preferably in a municipal setting
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including children, parents, and community members
