Position Overview:
· Negotiate, purchase, and handle the logistics of all commodities and ingredients for the Outreach Program to optimize the organization’s cost-efficiency, improve savings, and help achieve its mission and goals.

Responsibilities
· Grain and commodity origination: 1) procure all bulk ingredients necessary to service full-line, 2) coordinate truck and rail transportation for incoming ingredients, 3) negotiate best price and terms with suppliers on ingredients and freight, 4) monitor daily inventories to coordinate timely delivery of incoming ingredients, 5) analyze local, domestic, and global industry information to make recommendations and purchasing decisions that maximize profitability and meet operational goals and objectives.
· Recordkeeping: 1) maintain daily grain/commodity positions, 2) maintain grain-related records, including contracts and settlements, and 3) develop and maintain a working knowledge of grain industry requirements.
· Lead all sourcing activities for domestic and international suppliers, including strategic sourcing and supplier development. Develop and implement a strategic sourcing plan to optimize cost structures while ensuring supply chain continuity. Manage supplier contract negotiations and performance scorecards. Achieve year-over-year inventory turn objectives and balance supply chain risks and costs.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience:
· Working knowledge of commodity futures, options, and basis
· Strong communication and organizational skills
· Computer skills with knowledge of spreadsheets required
· Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, and lift/move objects up to 50lbs
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Education & Qualifications:
· 4-year degree in Agriculture, Business, or equivalent experience
· APICS certification is a plus.
· 3 years of experience in a senior buying or procurement role.
· Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Valid driver's license and clean driving record
