About our Department:
The General Services Department consists of several divisions in different locations throughout the City. The Facilities Projects Division manages new construction, additions, and alterations of City-owned buildings and parks. The Maintenance Division oversees the maintenance and janitorial services of City-owned structures and properties.
General Services Controls Technician Position Overview:
This is journeyman level commercial and industrial technical work performing maintenance, repair, and installation work on facilities and equipment. Work involves performing technical repair, maintenance, and installation work on buildings automation and control systems in City owned facilities, parks, and recreational buildings.
Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements:
High school diploma or GED certificate; experience and proficiency in HVAC at the journeyman level; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Possession of a valid driver's license.
Must pass the written portion of the CDL, Class B Endorsement test within six (6) months of hire and/or promotion date.
Must pass the driving test and obtain a valid CDL, Class B Endorsement within twelve (12) months of hire and/or promotion date.
