Job Summary
The Operations worker is responsible for cleaning and general maintenance of the Hurst Conference Center (HCC) facilities. This position is involved with events in assisting in the conversion (set-up/ tear down) of events at the HCC.
Essential Job Functions
- Prepares function space for meetings including moving furniture.
- Assists in the setting of tables, chairs, and other equipment for events as needed.
- Maintains public areas, parking lots, loading docks, service corridors and storage rooms in a clean, safe and efficient manner.
- Adheres to Hurst’s Code of Ideals and The Hurst Way. Fosters positive employee relations and employee morale on a City-wide basis.
- Performs related duties as directed when such duties are logical and appropriate.
- Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.
- Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers and others in the course of daily work.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Possess excellent customer service skills and can excel at applying the City of Hurst’s Code of Ideals in all interpersonal relations with city staff and the public including guests and patrons.
- Ability to follow directions and adhere to safety guidelines.
- Ability to work a varied schedule.
Minimum Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
- Must possess a current working telephone with a number that can be accessed by management.
- Must have reliable transportation and pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. This position requires the ability to work in an office environment where the noise level is often moderate.
