What are the responsibilities and job description for the Member service position at City of Indianola?
The City of Indianola (pop. 16,069) is a growing community with a historic downtown, located approximately 15 minutes south of Des Moines.
It is a safe community with Midwestern values, friendly people and excellent schools. Indianola, which is home to Simpson College, the world-renowned Des Moines Metro Opera and the National Balloon Museum and U.
S. Ballooning Hall of Fame, is known for its excellent access to outdoor activities, a nice trail system, five major parks and two golf courses.
The community welcomes thousands of visitors annually who come to Indianola to enjoy major events such as the National Balloon Classic, the Warren County Fair and other events.
This position is responsible for a number of tasks, including, but not limited to :
- Provides excellent customer service to all members, guests and program participants.Conducts tours in response to potential members' interests and needs.
- Follows all policies and procedures of membership guidelines when dealing with a member's account, payment, termination and hold policy.
- Monitors facility to ensure a clean and safe hazard-free environment and address safety issues as directed.
Minimum requirements include :
- 18 years of age.
- Must have basic computer knowledge and skills.
- Ability to build rapport, create relationships and motivate others.
- Work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions.

Starting salary is $11.00 / hour with some benefits. This is a part-time position that will work 20-25 hours a week with a schedule that would require availability Monday through Friday 4 : 45 AM- 10 AM and some weekends possibility.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a post-offer drug screening and background check. The position is open until filled.
