What are the responsibilities and job description for the Code Enforcement Program Coordinator position at City of Irving?
Duties include coordinating the Building and Standards program in support of the city’s Strategic Plan to keep city safe and secure; inspecting for minimum building standards; creating and maintaining proper documentation; reviewing repair scopes and schedules; and preparing and presenting cases and expert testimony for the Building and Standards Commission presentations during public hearings. Additional duties include overseeing the Boarding Home and Vacant Building Registration programs; coordinating the Temporary Sign Retrieval program, and assisting with educational outreach for the code enforcement department. Knowledge of building plans - including techniques and principles involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models including electrical, mechanical, plumbing codes and procedures a plus. Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to Associate degree and three years experience required. Must have, or obtain within a specified timeframe, a Texas Code Enforcement Officer license and appropriate state certifications. A résumé must be submitted with application.
