What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graduate Intern (Part-Time) position at City of Irving?
Duties include assisting with engineering tasks for drainage design, flooding and drainage concern investigations, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis, preparation of conceptual designs, construction site SWPPP reviews and inspections, floodway and levee inspections, municipal pollution prevention inspections, TPDES permitting, drone mapping, waterway bathymetrics, bioassessments, and citywide watershed basin evaluations. Additional duties include assisting with collecting field data; conducting surveys and other research including analyzing, tracking and summarizing informational and statistical data; assisting with public education, outreach activities and events; providing assistance with special projects; preparing PowerPoint presentations, maps, exhibits and a variety of reports, spreadsheets, correspondence and other documents; and performing clerical tasks, such as answering the telephone and filing. This position will encompass regular interaction with the other City departments and outside agencies. Must be currently enrolled in, or have completed within the past year, a graduate program with major course work in a related field. A résumé must be submitted with application.
