What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gliders Track & Field Coach position at City of Issaquah?
Gliders practices run in the evenings Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at a local Issaquah School District track, with a few track meets on Thursday evenings throughout the seasons. Spring season runs April 21 – May 22. Summer season runs June 2 – July 16. This position is open to individuals ages 15 years and older, though, 18 and older are encouraged to apply!
- Act both as a running coach and running partner for both Track and Field (spring/summer) and Cross-Country (fall) programs.
- Run with participants on mountain trails, sidewalks, and Citypark tails.
- Coordinate, set up, and clean up at track and cross country meets.
- Must be 15 years of age.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification recommended.
- Track and field, cross country, or other running/sport experience.
- Attendance at practices, track meets, and other events required.
- Experience with Gliders program preferred.
- Prior volunteer or paid coaching experience preferred.
- Familiarity with trails and parks in Issaquah and Sammamish preferred (Cross-country).
- Qualified applicants over 18 years of age must pass a criminal background screen.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a group.
- Ability to interact with and motivate children.
Salary : $17 - $24
