The Finance Department is actively seeking a Management and Budget Analyst.

This position reports to the Assistant Budget Officer and serves as a financial consultant to assigned City departments and agencies and as a staff advisor to the Office of the Mayor. Management and Budget Analysts perform difficult professional and administrative work relating to analyzing, coordinating, recommending, monitoring and maintaining the City's annual budget and the five-year Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The position also provides analyses, narratives, and statistical information relative to the published annual budget as well as maintains the City's position cap.
- Provides technical guidance to City Departments and agencies relative to financial matters.
- Reviews and makes recommendations with regards to budget transfers, personnel reclassifications, and hiring requests, and additional appropriations.
- Reviews and analyzes general ledger postings and other financial data/reports to prepare and report on monthly and quarterly financial projections.
- Assists departments and constitutional officers in preparation of their annual budget.
- Analyzes, recommends and reports on departmental annual budget requests for the purposes of developing a balanced Mayor's proposed budget.
- Prepares analysis, summaries, reconciliations, supporting documentation and provides formal responses relative to the Council Auditor's review of the annual budget.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors' Degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Public Administration, Accounting or a related field is required AND
- One (1) year of professional experience in financial and budgetary analysis.
