As a summer camp site supervisor your primary responsibilities would involve overseeing the day-to-day operations of the camp and ensuring that everything runs smoothly. You would also be focused on creating a positive and engaging atmosphere for campers and staff. Your goal is to create a memorable and enjoyable experience for camper and staff alike. Other responsibilities include:

Paid evening trainings and Saturdays in Mid-May and first week of June.

Camp Session June 9h – August 8th

This is seasonal/temporary employment, which will not exceed six (6) months in duration.

Examples of Duties

  • Supervising camp staff: be responsible for managing and supervising a team of camp counselors, ensuring that they are providing quality care for campers and following camp policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring we are adhering to state licensing policies applicable to your campsite.
  • Managing camp operations: oversee the scheduling of activities, field trips, and our guest visitors who bring activities to your campsite.
  • Maintaining camp facilities: ensure that the campsite is clean, safe, and well-maintained, and that all equipment and facilities are in good working order.
  • Ensuring camper safety: implement safety policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of campers and staff.
  • Handling camper issues: You will be responsible for handling any camper issues or concerns that arise and working with parents/guardians to address any problems that may arise.
  • Communicating with campers and parents: communicate with campers and parents before and during the camp session to ensure that they are informed about camp policies and activities.
  • Create a positive environment: Make sure that your camp is a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone feels safe and supported.
  • Be approachable: it's important to be approachable and accessible to campers and staff. Make sure that you are available to answer questions and address concerns as they arise.
  • Foster teamwork: Encourage campers to work together and develop a sense of camaraderie.
  • Incorporate humor: Laughter is the best medicine, so don't be afraid to incorporate humor into your activities and interactions with campers and staff. Be silly, tell jokes, and don't take yourself too seriously.
  • Be creative: Don't be afraid to think outside the box and come up with unique and creative ideas for activities and events. This will keep campers engaged and excited about coming to camp each day.

Essential Qualifications

Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of principles related to development of youth, group leadership skills, and an understanding of group dynamics.

Experience: Experience working with youth in a camp setting or after school programs is preferred. Willingness and dedication to the development of youth is required.

Must be 21 or older.

Must be First Aid/CPR certified – training is offered if not already certified.

Acceptable Training and Experience

All training is provided. Prior experience working with youth or working towards a degree in a youth field is highly preferred.
