Position Summary:
The On-Site Supervisor is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the automotive detailing team at a designated dealership location. This position ensures the quality, efficiency, and timeliness of all detailing services, including new vehicle prep, used car reconditioning, and customer delivery details. The supervisor schedules labor according to dealership volume, trains and coaches the team, and contributes directly to the completion of detailing work.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead a team of detailers to ensure quality standards, productivity targets, and customer expectations are consistently met.
Schedule and adjust staff shifts to ensure appropriate coverage for daily detailing workload, including last-minute needs.
Perform high-quality detailing services as needed, including vacuuming, washing, waxing, polishing, engine cleaning, and interior sanitation.
Train, coach, and mentor detailers on techniques, safety procedures, and company standards.
Monitor job performance and provide real-time feedback, corrective coaching, and development support.
Serve as the primary point of contact between the dealership and the detailing team.
Track completed work, time management, and job assignments daily.
Ensure safe working practices and adherence to company policies, environmental standards, and PPE usage.
Support onboarding of new hires and coordinate cross-training when needed.
Perform quality control inspections on all detailed vehicles prior to release.
Communicate any issues, material shortages, or equipment needs to management promptly.
Handle minor conflict resolution and escalate disciplinary or performance issues to HR/upper management.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive detailing.
Minimum 1 year in a leadership, team lead, or supervisory role.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of detailing processes and standards.
Excellent communication, leadership, and time management skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and delegate work effectively.
Comfortable using a mobile device or tablet to document and communicate.
Requirements:Physical Requirements:
Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Availability to work flexible hours, including some weekends or evenings as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
Experience working with dealership clients or in high-volume detailing environments.
Familiarity with inventory management, reporting, or basic scheduling software.
Working Conditions:

Exposure to cleaning chemicals and physical labor is routine.
May be required to travel locally to assist at other sites during peak periods.
