Full-time position available with the Water Department, Consumer Services Division, located at 4800 E 63rd St.
Salary Range: $22.52-$33.78/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30a.m. - 4:00p.m.

• Leads the work as assigned and participates in the review and correction of utility account information.
• Maintains and promotes goodwill and positive relations.
• Process more complex adjustment computations and/or payment of periodic billing statements and summaries for industrial, commercial and other internal/external customer accounts.
• Processes adjustments, deposits, delinquencies and refunds.
• Determines that appropriate account records are posted and processed through the CIS Billing system in proper sequence and within the time period allotted for proper account billing.
• Prepares financial statements and reports.
• Maintains knowledge of organizational, operational, and administrative changes.
• Composes and prepares written communication.
• Accesses technological resources such as the City’s on-line resource reference library, e-mail and request processing systems to provide information.
• Trains other employees on adjustment techniques & functions.
• Provides support to the department by receiving, coordinating and managing workflow.
• Perform related duties as required.

REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related subject area; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.

Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
