Full-time position available with the Parks & Recreation Department, Community Services Division located at Line Creek Community Center, 5940 NW Waukomis Dr
Salary Range: $18.37-$28.01/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
- Sweeps, mops, waxes and polishes floor.
- Washes walls, woodwork and blinds.
- Dusts furniture and other articles and provides ground maintenance on the outside of buildings.
- Participates in the work of automatic floor scrubbing machines, battery-operated sweepers, motor driven vacuum sweepers, power-operated wall washers and general handwork associated with the cleaning of buildings.
- Checks buildings floor-by-floor or area-by-area to determine that regular custodial and other cleaning duties have been performed.
- Assists personnel in accomplishing their work; assists as necessary in snow removal activities.
- Participates in minor maintenance activities such as window washing, replacing light bulbs, patch plastering or painting, replacing faucet gaskets, unstopping plugged lavatories and other fixtures.
- Sets up tables and chairs.
- Observes the operation of building refrigeration and heating equipment to detect malfunctions.
- Discontinues malfunctioning equipment and notifies skilled maintenance workers.
- Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
REQUIRES 6 months of experience in the custodial care and limited general maintenance of buildings. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
