What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal-Pool Manager position at City of Killeen?
GENERAL PURPOSE
To facilitate, coordinate and monitor all weekly operations at the pool.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Employee supervises Lifeguards, Pool Cashiers, and Water Safety Instructors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Explains and enforces basic pool rules.
Provides information regarding facility use and hours of operation.
Assists with conflict resolution and customer relations.
Assists in general maintenance and clean-up of activities/facilities.
Maintains property of the City of Killeen pool facility.
Submits reports to supervisor on accidents, damage to facilities and equipment, problems among staff, and complaints from facility users.
Oversees all lifeguard operations, including but not limited to: lifeguard rotation, lifeguard awareness, lifeguard conduct, and the scheduling of guards.
Supervises cashiers, including but not limited to: management of accepting fees, accounting for fees received, and the turning in of all monies.
Plans and develops of pool activities.
Limits the use of the pool telephone.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
(A) Previous experience as a lifeguard, water safety instructor, or any other previous aquatics experience preferred.
(B) Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
(A) Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and customers.
(B) Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
(C) Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
(D) Ability to utilize organizational skills
(E) Ability to consistently monitor lifeguards and patrons.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employee must have a valid Texas Driver’s license, and CPR/First Aid/AED certification by date of hire. Must be able to work from 6:30 am until 11:00 pm. Must be able to work weekends.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Copy machine, computer, cash register and wet/dry vac,.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires someone to be able to lift and carry equipment for pools up to 75 pounds. Must be able to handle paperwork, set up facility, and to perform CPR/First Aid/AED.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position requires that the individual to work outdoors for prolonged periods of time, and be exposed to various weather conditions. The Pool Supervisor may be required to be present at all times the pool is open.
