Job Description
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
2 years experience in operation/maintenance of water production equipment including pumps and motors. Must be able to obtain a Water Class “C” Certificate, as mandated by TCEQ, within one (1) year of employment.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
General knowledge of pump production, pressure zones boundaries and water transfer between zones. Ability to uses hand and power tools, moving pumps and electrical controls. Good verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Demonstrates dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules. Skills required: accuracy, analytical and problem-solving. Demonstrates resourcefulness and ability to take initiative in development and completion of projects. Ability to provide excellent customer service.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry up to100 pounds. Works outdoors in extreme temperatures and inclement weather with some exposure to dust, fumes, noise, mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards while using proper safety precautions
Additional Information
All City employees are required in the course and scope of their employment to provide services for the benefit of the general public during emergency situations that threaten the safety of Kingsville’s citizens. City employees must be able to work immediately before, during, and/or immediately after an emergency.
All positions require the following: 1) High School diploma or equivalent, 2) possession of a valid driver’s license 3) satisfactory driving record and 4) proof of citizenship and/or eligibility to work in the U.S. legally. The successful applicant will be required to take and pass a pre-employment physical examination, drug screen and background investigation.
