What are the responsibilities and job description for the LTE- Streets -Clerical position at City of La Crosse?
The City of La Crosse is seeking to hire a temporary clerical staff member at the Street Department. It is the responsibility of the Street Department to provide maintenance and repair of streets, snow removal, and oversee the refuse and recycling program. This position will work with the Fleet Manager and parts department. This temporary position will work 40 hours per week. Standard operating hours of Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Starting wage is $17.00 per hour. Position to start 5/1/2025 and work through the end of the year. Position is limited term and does not acquire benefits.

- Data collection/entry
- Parts delivery/pick up
- Order supplies
- Sort/stock shelves
- Answer phone
- Light cleaning
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid motor vehicle operator’s license required
Physical and Mental Abilities Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
- Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Comfortable using standard office equipment such as printers, scanners and phone
- Ability to communicate effectively with department personnel and general public
- Motivated, responsible, and have excellent time management skills
- Ability to work with and assist a wide variety of personalities
