Under general supervision, provides support to the Community Services Department in a variety of programs, projects, functions, and special events. Supervises and trains staff and volunteers.

Minimum Qualifications
Must possess excellent customer service skills.
Knowledge of : Methods, practices, and equipment used in maintaining an effective recreational program; CPR, AED, and First Aid safety practices; recreation class registration and facility reservation software; English grammar, punctuation, spelling, and composition.
Ability to : Deliver oral and written reports to supervisor and others. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, community groups, staff, and other agencies. Exercise good judgment, courtesy, and tact with staff and the public. Assign tasks to employees when needed. Utilize Windows based software. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and available to work nights, weekends and holidays.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION :
Two years of related recreation experience, including one year of employee supervisory experience, is required. Graduation from high school or equivalent and completed college level coursework is required, preferably in Recreation, Education, Physical Education, or related field.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE :
Possession of a valid California Driver License is required at time of application.
Possession of CPR, AED, and First Aid certificates are required within the two months of employment. Certification will be provided by the City.
Supplemental Information
Position requires availability to work varying shifts on days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates with open availability will be given preference when hiring.
Applicants selected to be hired are required to attend orientation and / or training on the following dates and times. Attendance is mandatory .
