As an Events Coordinator, you will work closely with internal teams, external partners, volunteers, and vendors to deliver exceptional events. This role requires outstanding communication and organizational skills, the ability to juggle multiple priorities, and a passion for creating memorable experiences for our residents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, organization, and execution of all City of La Vista events, ensuring seamless collaboration with various departments and community stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with city departments, community partners, businesses, and volunteers.
- Develop and implement new event concepts that enhance community engagement and reflect the City's vision.
- Coordinate logistics including venue selection, event setup, vendor management, staffing, and on-site oversight.
- Collaborate with the Communications & Marketing Division to promote events and engage the public.
- Manage event budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Train, supervise, and support event staff and volunteers.
- Evaluate event success through data collection, feedback, and post-event reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, event management, community programming, recreation administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in event planning and management.
- Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across various teams and build lasting partnerships.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience managing budgets and negotiating contracts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Marketing and communication experience preferred.
