Lafayette, IN 47905
HOURS:
20-29 hours per week (25 average), during the hours of 7 a.m.– 3 p.m., Monday – Friday
SALARY:
$15 per hour (This position is not eligible for benefits.)
DESCRIPTION:
Incumbent primarily picks up and delivers parts. Incumbent also cleans floors, restrooms, and
empties trash receptacles at the Fleet Maintenance facility. Incumbent performs light, general
maintenance, including moving equipment, transferring vehicles, cleaning City vehicles, and
changing light bulbs. Incumbent may operate snow removal equipment to clear Fleet
Maintenance grounds and mow grass at the Fleet Maintenance Facility. Incumbent performs
other essential and non-essential functions, as required. Incumbent reports to the General
Foreperson.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED preferred. Must hold a valid
Indiana driver’s license and have a demonstrated safe driving record. Must be able to use hand
tools and power tools, such as a power washer, lawn mower, or other light-duty equipment.
Incumbent is required to walk, stand, sit, lift, carry, throw, and use a push / pull action to
complete work assignments. Moderate skills in dexterity, vision, and hearing are required for
the purpose of completing assigned duties safely. Incumbent works inside and outside at Fleet
Maintenance. Incumbent must follow all applicable safety protocols.
