Position
The City of Lakeville is hiring for a Facility Attendant to be responsible for light maintenance, set-up and reconfiguration of the Arts Center complex based on scheduled activities. Ensure patrons and facility users needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
Core hours for the position are weekdays (Monday - Friday) 8 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m. Schedule up to 28 hours each week depending on availability.
Starting salary rate is $22.62 per hour.
Major Areas of Accountability
- Perform building set-up and reconfiguration based on scheduled activities. Duties include locking / unlocking doors, retracting / extending seating risers, set up / take down of portable stage / riser assemblies and seating, installation / removal of stage lighting fixtures, installation / removal and adjustment of stage curtains and riggings, and assisting with stage lighting and sound system set-up and operation.
- Perform a variety of custodial work including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, window washing, dusting, trash collection, waste disposal, walkway maintenance including snow and ice control, floor stripping and waxing and general building cleaning and upkeep, including restrooms.
- Monitor building systems and components. Assist with preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, fire alarm and sprinklers, elevators and lifts, emergency lighting, kitchen equipment and pottery room waste systems. Documentation and record keeping are an important part of these duties.
- Responsible for building security, including opening and closing of facility.
- Repair and ensure proper operation of building components, including lighting, plumbing, HVAC, doors and windows, seating riser system, furniture and equipment, phone system and other minor repairs.
- Clean, maintain, inventory, and order necessary supplies for custodial work and proper building operation.
- Make recommendations concerning Art Center facility equipment, supplies and repairs to the Art Center Manager or designated representative.
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with peers, supervisors, facility users, patrons, vendors, contractors and others.
- Maintain bar inventory and assist with sales at public programs and events. Bar server training is provided through Lakeville Liquors annually.
- Process ticket sales and assist customers at the box office during public events.
- Process bar and ticket deposits, balancing and securing cash drawers.
- Perform other duties and tasks as apparent or assigned. Respond willingly to varied work assignments and to flexible working hours, including evening and weekends, to achieve desired results.
