The Lakeville Area Arts Center (LAAC) is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join our team as summer Intern. In this role, you will support camp instructors, engage with campers, prepare art materials, assist with administrative tasks, and ensure a safe and fun learning environment. Experience working with children and a passion for the arts are highly valued.

This position is part-time, working 20-25 hours per week June through August. First review of applicants will begin on February 24, 2025. This position is open until filled.
- Assist with Camp Preparation: Help set up classrooms and activity spaces, organize supplies, and prepare materials for camp activities.
- Support Instructors: Collaborate with camp leaders to facilitate arts activities, assist with demonstrations, and provide guidance to campers during projects.
- Engage with Campers: Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere by interacting with campers, encouraging creativity, and assisting with group dynamics.
- Administrative Tasks: Help with registration processes, attendance tracking, and maintaining records of camper participation.
- Safety and Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of campers during activities and transitions; report any concerns to camp leaders.
- Event Coordination: Assist in organizing special events, performances, or exhibitions that showcase camper work.
- Feedback and Evaluation: Participate in discussions about camp activities and provide input on procedures and planning.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
The LAAC Intern:
- Is under the general supervision of the Arts Center Recreation Program Coordinator.
- Provides regular communication to program staff to streamline processes, programs, policies, and procedures to ensure the community is receiving the best service possible.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Strong written and oral communications skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience working with children or in educational settings is a plus.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must be currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior at an accredited college or university, preferably in a fine arts, performing arts, education or related field.
- Passion for the arts and experience in visual arts, music, theater, or dance is required.
Salary : $16 - $19
