The City of Lancaster is seeking an Administrative Assistant. Under the direction of the IT Director, this position provides confidential administrative and secretarial support to the IT/Telecom Department and performs routine and non-routine duties related to information collection, analysis, processing, and cataloging.
Job Duties:
Open, review, date stamp, and route all incoming mail.
Independently review supplier invoices for accuracy and voucher invoices for payment.
Prepares all purchase orders and payroll; keeps accurate bookkeeping on all activities.
Provide help-desk support to city employees for software authorized for use in departments.
Responds to inquiries from departments regarding personnel availability; notify employees of requests.
Prepares and reviews yearly budgets and department’s chargebacks.
Maintains City ID Badge system with door access and bar codes.
Perform other duties as related to the essential functions.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Must have prior experience in office work and knowledge of bookkeeping.
Customer service experience preferred.
Knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office Products.
Ability to relate, interact, and communicate with superiors, peers, government officials, and the general public in an effective, tactful, and courteous manner.
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations (i.e. calculating, fractions, decimals and percentages).
Ability to maintain confidentiality in the processing of personnel data and records.
Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and be insurable under the City’s Liability Policy to operate City equipment and vehicles.
