Position:  Recreation Program Leader – Lancaster Batting Range

Department: PARCS 

Hourly Range: $18.13 - $20.99

Classification: Temporary

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Job Summary: 

Under general supervision, oversees the Lancaster Batting Range by helping patrons with processing payments, cage rentals, and facility cleanliness, as well as working on Citywide special events. This position reports to the athletic Supervisor.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

    None


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

    Circulate and be aware of any machine issues, incidents, accidents, and injuries that may occur at the batting range during a shift.

    Be visible and available to patrons.

    Take and process payments through ActiveNet.

    Opening and closing of the building and facility.

    Work with patrons who want to rent the cages.

    Complete cash counting reports.

    Sanitize all helmets and bats once returned from.

    Welcomes visitors and answers incoming phone calls.

    Be friendly, courteous, and helpful to all patrons.

Minimum Qualifications:

    Ability to organize, plan, direct, and lead a group of children or adults.

    Write reports and evaluations.

    Deal tactfully and effectively with staff, participants, and the public.


Education and Experience:

    Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance

    Currently enrolled in a college or university majoring in Recreation or a related field is desirable
