Position: Sr. Art Program Leader – Guest Services- MOAH 

Department: PARCS

Hourly Range:   $22.04-25.51

Classification:   Temporary

              Non-Exempt – Overtime Eligible


Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the Sr. Art Program Leader supports the daily operations of the Lancaster Museum of Art and History’s guest services and docent teams. This role ensures excellent customer service, assists with staff scheduling and deployment, and helps train new and existing team members. The Sr. Art Program Leader works closely with the Sr. Technical Assistant to maintain smooth operations, monitor team progress, and ensure adherence to museum policies during regular hours and special events.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

 Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Provide excellent customer service to museum visitors while ensuring compliance with museum policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with museum operations to assist with daily tasks and support guest services and docent teams.
  • Support the Sr. Technical Assistant in managing Art Program Leaders, volunteers, and other docent staff as needed.
  • Assist with coordinating shift schedules and ensuring adequate staff coverage.
  • Track team progress, maintain efficient workflows, and report any issues to the Sr. Technical Assistant.
  • Monitor the status of team projects and provide updates to ensure accurate progress tracking.
  • Help train new and existing Art Program Leaders on museum policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Assist with task assignments and support team members based on project needs and individual strengths.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by maintaining high standards for performance and behavior.
  • Help ensure team adherence to museum policies and procedures, supporting smooth operations.
  • Act as a point of contact between the public and the team, facilitating clear communication and excellent service.

Education and Experience:

Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance

Currently enrolled in a college or university majoring in Arts or a related field is desirable
