The City of Lansing’s Economic, Development & Planning Department is seeking a Grants Administrator within the Office of Financial Empowerment Division. The successful candidate must possess strong organizational and problem solving skills, be detail oriented, have the ability to maintain accurate records & files, and posses exceptional interpersonal skills. The City of Lansing offers a competitive wage and benefits package including medical, vision, dental, paid vacation, sick and holiday leave.IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING: Two (2) years of college or an Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Public Administration, Political Science, or related field; ANDAt least three (3) years of experience in applicable grant administration and/or project management, to include contract administration, grant writing and reporting, accounting, and writing/data reporting.Experience in foundations, nonprofits, or the private sector, highly preferred.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS INLCUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Provides administration for the grants process throughout all stages including receiving, assessing, tracking, payment/check requests, documenting all inquiries and/or proposals; assuring that submitted documentation meets all City Council and grantor requirements; and maintaining accurate and timely records.Provides technical assistance and accountability checks to vendors. Develops performance improvement plans for vendors when needed and communicates weekly until performance issues are resolved.
