ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Implements and maintains computer, wireless, Wi-Fi, network, and telecommunications within the City of Laredo infrastructure.
- Installs, configures, and tests cabling, voice sets, PCs, and networking hardware to support and maintain the effective operation of the City network.
- Provides technical support to end users; troubleshoots and resolves operating system, software, and hardware issues.
- Inventories and documents detailed information of equipment and software licensing.
- Monitors network security software for suspicious or malicious connections or files.
- Will be required to drive a city vehicle for City business use.
- Performs related work as required.

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited* college or university in Network Administration, Computer Science, or a related field
- At least three (3) years of experience with wired and wireless Cisco Networking, IP video, VOIP, Windows server, and desktop operations and troubleshooting techniques to resolve customer problems.

- Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
As part of the minimum requirements for all positions with the City of Laredo, a thorough background check and certified school transcripts will be required from all applicants who are offered employment.
