Job Summary :

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Inventory Coordinator to oversee inventory control for the Environmental Services Warehouse and other designated areas. This role requires independent judgment, substantial technical expertise, and proficiency in utilizing automated Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Responsible for maintenance of stock levels for parts, supplies, and equipment utilized by the Environmental Services department

Determines (with collaboration with SMEs) the quantity and quality of goods received against prescribed specifications

Responsible for testing and evaluation of parts and supplies for functionally and life cycle determination

Ensures work groups and vehicles are provided with all essential and necessary parts, supplies and equipment

Maintains a clean, organized, and orderly warehouse area to ensure a safe and functional work environment

Possesses advanced skills in using computer systems, such as spreadsheets and application-based software

Records and processes records (invoices, shipping lists, purchase orders, etc.) within the asset management system which are necessary for the proper operation and maintenance of the warehouse

Analyzes inventory and data reports to evaluate and make decisions related to operational efficiency

Tracks key metrics and indicators to maintain cost records for material used and submits related reports as required

In collaboration with supervisor, develops standard operating procedures (SOPs), forms and processes to create an effective and efficient inventory control management system to procure and process inventory throughout Environmental Services

Assists supervisors in assembling pick list

Research and orders materials and orders for project-based field work

Actively participates and serves on the strategic management committee, inventory control committee and related committees as needed to continuously improve inventory management changing objectives

Operates varied equipment (pallet jack, forklift, etc.)

EMERGENCY RESPONSE STATUS : As a condition of employment, City of Largo employees will be required to work as directed during an undeclared and / or a declared emergency. All employees are subject to recall around the clock for emergency response operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the normal work location, and may include duties other than those specified in the official job description.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience :

High School diploma (Associate's Degree preferred) and two (2) years of directly related skilled maintenance, storekeeping, inventory and / or purchasing experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience

Forklift operator certification required within 6 months of hire

Valid Driver's License

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Knowledge of wastewater industry preferred (especially in parts and equipment)

Knowledge of warehousing methods, safety precautions and procedures used in the receipt, storage, and distribution of merchandise

Knowledge of regulations and procedures affecting storekeeping, inventory and stock or property control records

Knowledge of proper disposal procedures and their environmental impact

Knowledge of automated work management and inventory control systems

Ability to apply computer applications and software, including creation and use of spreadsheets

Ability to determine the quantity and quality of goods received against prescribed specifications

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work Environment : 75% inside a climate-controlled building; 25% outside which includes driving.

Physical Requirements : The essential function of the job requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking during any shift with most of the time spent walking and / or standing to complete job responsibilities. The work requires frequent : bending / stooping, climbing, crawling, fine manipulations, grasping, kneeling, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, and lifting / carrying of objects weighing up to 44 pounds. On occasion the job requires lifting / carrying objects weighing more than 50 pounds.

Sensory Requirements : Hearing : Ability to understand what others are saying in normal conversation in person and on the telephone. Speaking : Ability to communicate verbally with others and in person and on the telephone. Seeing : Ability to see and read computer screens, numbers, and all types of print.

Driving Requirements : Requires occasional driving and possession of a valid Florida Driver's License.

Technology : The work requires ability to operate telephones, smart phones, tablets, photocopiers, printers, desktop and / or laptop computers, calculators, and all associated software. The work also requires proficiency with computer hardware and software programs including CMMS, word, spreadsheet and / or database applications, internet applications, and database management.

Other Machines : The work requires the ability to operate floats, dollies, forklifts, manlift, overhead cranes, and other light utility vehicles.

Tools : The work requires proficiency with various store tools and parts.
