THE CITY OF LEAWOOD, KANSAS is looking for a
Challenge Course Lead
Are you ideal for working as a Challenge Course Lead at the Leawood Challenge Course?
- Do you have a high school diploma or equivalent?
- Are you 18 years of age OR older?
- Possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills?
- Are you reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment?
- Are you ready to make some extra money for the summer?
- Do you have facilitation and team-building experience?
- Do you have experience in high ropes courses or low ropes courses?
- What about the safety of climbers, specifically, belaying experience?
As the Challenge Course Lead, you will work:
- Approximately 18 hours per week between Monday and Thursday and some Fridays.
- The Challenge Course runs from June to August.
A few of the things you will be doing include:
- Supports the Outdoor Recreation Team in leading group programs at the Carolina T-Wall, Alpine Tower, Caribbean Ropes Course, and low ropes course. Responsibilities include assisting with summer day camps and private rentals.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating camper records, including attendance, consent forms, and emergency documents.
- Ensure participants meet pre-determined course objectives and requirements while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Supports the maintenance and upkeep of the course by performing minor repairs and routine tasks.
- Provide support to the Outdoor Recreation Coordinator and Technician during emergency rescue situations.
