GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK
The Drainage Mitigation Seasonal Worker performs manual labor and basic maintenance tasks related to stormwater management and drainage systems. This position supports efforts to prevent flooding, control erosion, and maintain proper water flow throughout the city's drainage infrastructure. Work includes clearing debris from drainage channels, ditches, culverts, and storm drains; assisting with erosion control measures; and operating hand tools or light equipment under supervision. The role requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions and involves physical labor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Performs activities in the maintenance and repair of storm drainage system within the public right of ways.
Ensures ditches and culverts are properly maintained and marked.
Handles questions, concerns, and complaints from the general public with tact and diplomacy.
Follows all safety rules and regulations.
Performs work of a skilled, semi-skilled or unskilled nature.
Performs other duties as assigned.
This is a great entry level opportunity with the City of Lebanon.
This seasonal position will not exceed 6 months.
Seasonal employees are permitted to apply for regular, full-time positions within the City of Lebanon during their seasonal employment, provided they meet the position qualifications.
BASIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Valid TN driver’s license and clear driving record is strongly desired.
Must have a minimum 8th Grade education.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required
to use hands to finger, handle feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee is required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. Work involves continuous walking, bending, squatting, and lifting of heavy items. Employee should be physically fit to be able lift and carry containers. Employee must be capable of performing laborious tasks over extended periods of time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific
vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. The employee must frequently walk, reach with hand and arms.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
