PUBLIC WORKS FLEET TECHNICIAN IV - (Equipment Technician IV)

What You Will Be Doing :
Perform a wide variety of preventative maintenance and repair services on the City's fleet equipment (heavy equipment, motor vehicles, etc.)
Ensure that all fleet equipment complies with established safety standards and regulations
Follow City policies regarding safely operating a variety of fleet equipment
Qualifications :
High school diploma PLUS five (5) years' demonstrated proficiency working as an automotive, electronics and / or heavy equipment mechanic OR
Four (4) years' experience in an Equipment Operator II-III or Equipment Technician II-III (or comparable position) with the City of Lebanon or municipal government
SUBSTITUTION : Graduation from a technical / vocational training program with specialization in automotive / motor vehicle mechanics, heavy equipment mechanics, or comparable education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience
Licensing / Certification :
Valid Driver's License
Class B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) will be required within six (6) months
Motor Vehicle Inspection (MVI) Certification will be required within six (6) months
We Need Someone Who :
Can be flexible with their work schedule
Has experience inspecting equipment and / or motor vehicles
Is focused on preventative maintenance and safety issues
Is self-motivated to solve problems
Likes to work on a variety of fleet equipment

Must be able to successfully complete a background check / investigation, pre-employment drug test and FMCSA Clearninghouse, if applicable. Must submit to periodic drug testing as required by applicable law.
