The purpose of the class is to maintain City property in clean, safe, and orderly manner. This position typically performs a variety of responsibilities, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, cleaning landscaped areas, watering, prepare and apply fertilizers, herbicides and other chemicals according to current regulations and safety practices, digging, raking, and sprinkler installation and repair. Completing logs or routine records. This class works according to set procedures under direct supervision. Requires one (1) year or more of general maintenance and manual work experience. Previous experience working in a ground’s maintenance position preferred. General knowledge of computer usage preferred. Requires a valid State of Florida driver license and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment. Must be available for call to duty at any time pertaining to system emergencies.
