Network Security Administrator (Network Admin II)

This is responsible technical work involving the installation, troubleshooting, configuration and operation of the security software, hardware, and monitoring systems used to support the City and County network and computer systems. 

Work involves responsibility for the installation, configuration, and management of security systems in the enterprise network; providing technical assistance to City and County customers in the use of security services; monitoring, triaging, and responding to security alerts and notifications; identifying, developing, and implementing performance improvement features and procedures. This position will be required to work cooperatively and collaboratively with other areas of technology support to deliver productive and efficient support and services for the Information Services Division.

CISSP, Security , CySA , or other cybersecurity related certifications are desirable.

Considerable knowledge of information security concepts, protocols, industry best practices and strategies.

Considerable knowledge of operating system internals and network protocols.

Considerable knowledge of the principles of cryptography and cryptanalysis.

Considerable knowledge of application technology security testing.

Considerable knowledge of system technology security testing.

Ability to analyze security requirements and relate them to appropriate security controls.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, network administration, telecommunications, business, or related field and five years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and review of data-related security systems; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.

Salary : $79,152 - $105,572
