Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in counseling, social work, criminal justice, psychology, sociology or related field plus two years of experience in the mental health, substance abuse or correctional field or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.
Necessary Special Requirements:
Must be a citizen of the United States and be at least nineteen (19) years of age or older. At the time of employment, must be fingerprinted and the fingerprint cards promptly submitted to the Nebraska State Patrol for a criminal history search; must be free of any convictions of crimes punishable by imprisonment in a state or federal penitentiary for a term of one (1) year or more, from which a pardon has not been received. Must submit to and successfully pass a substance abuse test. Must be examined by a licensed physician and meet the medical requirements of the Corrections Department. Must have of a valid driver's license and the ability to be insured by the County’s insurance carrier.

- Develop individualized reentry plans of targeted services and programs to support incarcerated individual’s reintegration into the community upon release.
- Conduct case management according to developed behavioral modification plans and assess daily activities for compliance.
- Coordinate and integrate training programs and services, including job training, education, substance use treatment, mental health services, and other support services as needed to incarcerated individuals.
- Work collaboratively with community providers to ensure appropriate resources and programming are available as needed upon release.
- Interview incarcerated individuals, utilizing a variety of assessment instruments.
- Lead educational and support program for incarcerated individuals, focusing on topics relevant to their reintegration.
- Work to establish relationships with agencies and the existing volunteer base to bring new volunteers and programs to the jail that are designed to help incarcerated individuals with reintegration into the community.
- Provide orientation and training for volunteers approve to conduct reentry programs within the jail.
