The City of Lino Lakes is seeking a hard working, dedicated individual for our Seasonal Urban Forestry/Parks Maintenance position. This position is mostly involved with urban forestry and natural resources work, but will be assisting Parks staff as the need arises. This position reports directly to the Environmental Coordinator in the Community Development department. The primary job duties include, but are not limited to: Urban Forestry/Natural ResourcesRestoration work in natural areas, including invasive species managementAssisting the Parks crew with urban forestry operations, including tree removals, pruning, mulching, watering, and stump grinding.Performing tree injections to protect against emerald ash borer and nutrient deficiencies. Updating the City’s boulevard tree inventory using GIS.Landscape maintenance including weeding and mulching landscape beds. Parks MaintenanceMowing and weed whippingAthletic field maintenanceGarbage collectionNote: These examples are intended only as illustrative of various types of work performed and are not all inclusive. Minimum qualifications: Must be enrolled in or have completed a degree or certificate program in forestry, natural resources, conservation biology, environmental science or a closely related field.Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver's license and a good driving record. Must be able to pass a background check. Desired qualifications: Experience in identifying trees and other plants.Experience using ArcGIS and ArcMap.
