JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
- Inspect pool facility prior to opening and closing
- Maintain gate and concession money records
- Inventory and restock concession stand regularly
- Assist with First Aid as needed
- Assist with custodial maintenance and chemical balance of pool
- Assist in the supervision of bath/concession workers and lifeguards
- Participate in applicant interviews and make hiring recommendations
- Plan and delegate work assignments
- Assist with employee orientation and training
- Perform other duties, as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
The following qualifications represent the minimum requirements to competently perform the key responsibilities of this job in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications, or other knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, certification as Pool Operator, Food Service Handler, Water Safety Instructor, and CPR
- 1 years’ experience as a lifeguard and/or previous pool management experience
- 1 years’ personnel management experience
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a safe driving record
- Ability to pass a drug test

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- General knowledge of safe handling of pool purification and cleaning chemicals
- Working knowledge of and ability to make practical application of City and department policies and procedures and applicable EPA and OSHA safety policies and procedures
- Ability to competently serve the public with diplomacy and respect, including occasional encounters with irate/hostile persons

This position requires close vision, distance vision, the ability to adjust focus, and peripheral vision. Hearing is required to perceive information through oral communication and/or to make fine distinctions in sound.
Incumbent is regularly exposed to sun and pool and cleaning chemicals. Incumbent may occasionally be exposed to violent/irate individuals.
