Job Objective & Safety/Security Sensitive Designation

This position is not designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is not subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
Essential Functions
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
To assist Training personnel in the accreditation process.
- Accreditation file document collection and preparation.
- Conduct research and make recommendations for changes to Department directives to bring the Division in compliance with CALEA standards.
- Answers a multi-line telephone and routes callers to the appropriate personnel; greets and screens visitors, and callers.
- Drafts and types letters, memoranda, correspondence, and other materials for departmental staff members; takes and transcribes dictation.
- Monitors status of special staff assignments made by the Division Commander and provides follow up with staff to ensure completion.
- Attends meetings to provide staff support and to note items requiring further attention; takes and transcribes minutes, types and distributes minutes to appropriate individuals.
- Schedules meeting rooms and makes other necessary arrangements for meetings called by the Division Commander; notifies appropriate individuals of scheduled meetings.
- Collect and maintain required documentation in the Power DMS Standards program.
- Operates a computer, utilizing Office and Power DMS software in the performance of essential job functions.
Minimum Qualifications, Additional Requirements and Supervisory Responsibilities
Knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through the completion of high school or must have a General Education Diploma (G.E.D.). Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Regular part-time employees who work 1,500 hours shall receive six (6) days of Sick Leave upon the completion of the 1,500 hours. If unused, this Sick Leave shall be allowed to accumulate to a maximum of fifteen (15) days (120 hours). Regular, full-time non-probationary employees who transfer to Regular, part-time positions will receive credit for the previous year's service for purposes of Sick Leave accrual and may carry over accrued Sick Leave accrual up to the maximum noted above.
Regular part-time employees who were in pay status (vacation, sick leave, or actual hours worked) for at least 1,500 hours during the year shall receive the following Vacation Leave:
Up to 10 years of service (40 hrs.) = 5 days per year
10 years or more (60 hrs.) = 7-1/2 days per year
