Job Objective & Safety/Security Sensitive Designation
Essential Functions
- Prepares job assignments and rotation schedules.
- Prepares lesson plans and teaches swim lessons and classes.
- Advises pool patrons again involvement in hazardous and prohibited activities.
- Tests pool water by using chemical water test kit and maintains proper PH levels by monitoring the water filtration systems.
- Maintains proper sanitation of pool facilities, which includes shower facilities and bathhouse.
- Patrols activities surrounding pool facilities, shower rooms and bathhouses to ensure safety of patrons and for security purposes.
- Administers first aid and/or CPR to injured patrons as necessary.
- Renders assistance to swimmers in distress.
- Coaches swim teams.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Additional Requirements and Supervisory Responsibilities
- Must be certified by American Red Cross as Lifeguard
- Must possess a current CPR certification.
- Must have three (3) years experience as a Lifeguard.
- Must have two (2) years experience teaching swim lessons.
