What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Development Construction Specialist position at City of Little Rock?

JOB OBJECTIVE: To regularly inspect the construction repair work of contractors utilized to rehabilitate homes in specific home rehabilitation programs, special projects, or city owned properties within the City of Little Rock and ensure compliance with specifications and applicable federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnerships Programs (HOME) regulations and guidelines.

This position is not designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is not subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of high school, and two (2) years of experience in housing construction or building inspection or a related area, to include one (1) year of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications, or a related area; and two (2) years of demonstrated work experience with owner occupied rehabilitation projects and the inspection of roofs, electrical, plumbing, and heat and air systems for residential structures; one (1) year of computer experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
