The City of Littleton is seeking an experienced Finance Director to serve as the Chief Financial Officer and department director with responsibility for overall management of city finances, department functional areas, and daily operations of the department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting, revenue, budget, sales tax, utilities, payroll, procurement and contracts. The Finance Director establishes and administers department operating policies, procedures and activities to establish and accomplish goals and objectives for the department. As a member of the City of Littleton leadership team, the Finance Director provides support and guidance to other department heads in financial, budget and accounting matters.
The Finance Director will have the opportunity to work with and lead a talented Finance Department, fostering a culture of teamwork, innovation, and financial excellence. The ideal candidate will have experience leading people through change, have a strategic mindset, and be thoughtful in communicating and transforming ideas into action. The ideal candidate for the Finance Director position at the City of Littleton will be an experienced financial professional with a strong background in municipal finance and public administration. With at least seven years of financial management experience, including supervisory roles, they will have expertise in budgeting, accounting, cash management, and investments. The candidate will be a strategic leader who fosters a culture of teamwork and financial excellence, effectively communicates complex financial information to stakeholders, and guides the city through financial decision-making. Additionally, they will be skilled in using financial software and staying current with relevant regulations and legislative issues.
The city has a number of exciting projects in the works, including the financing for downtown streetscape redevelopment, regional infrastructure projects, and major city facility replacements. The City is also strengthening alignment of its strategic planning and budgeting processes. All of these initiatives will benefit from visionary and experienced Finance Director leadership.

Hiring pay range $204,820 - $226,380 per year
This full-time position is exempt per FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
