The City of Loganville is seeking a full time Wastewater Collections Technician in the Sewer Department. Work involves regular maintenance, repair and installation for the Wastewater System. Occasional weekend and holiday work; ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
Major Duties:
- Uses a variety of hand tools such as wrenches, screw drivers, and shovels.
- Repairs and maintains sewer lines; repair leaks; installs new lines and replaces existing lines that need repairs; requests line locates before digging proceeds.
- Responds to and participates in emergency and customer calls.
- Operates City vehicles in the performance of duties or to attend training programs.
- CCTV Inspections.
- Maintenance on sewer pump stations.
- Cut and clear sewer outfall lines.
Knowledge Required by the Position:
- Must have knowledge of sewer system repair procedures.
- Must possess good customer service skills, computer skills, and good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow established safety rules and departmental policies and procedures.
- Ability to safely drive and operate the department's assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to work in a variety of extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time.
- Available and able to respond seven days a week, 24 hours a day for system emergencies as needed.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent, desire (1) year of related experience; possession of Wastewater Collections System Operator certification is desirable, or obtain within 12 months of hire date. Must possess a valid State of Georgia drivers license (Class A CDL is desirable) and have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record; CPR & First Aid certification is desirable. In addition, must possess an acceptable Criminal Background and pass a Drug Screen.
