We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer to join our team. The Building Inspector will be responsible for conducting inspections at various construction sites and providing valuable feedback to ensure compliance throughout the building process.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of residential and commercial buildings at various stages of construction.
- Analyze construction plans and blueprints to ensure adherence to local codes and regulations.
- Research data collection methods to gather relevant information on building practices and compliance standards.
- Evaluate construction sites for safety hazards and quality control issues.
- Collaborate with contractors, architects, and engineers to discuss findings and recommend necessary changes.
- Review schematics and documentation related to building contracts to ensure all specifications are met.
- Prepare inspection reports outlining findings, recommendations, and any necessary corrective actions.
- Stay updated on changes in building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction management or a related field is preferred.
- Strong skills in blueprint reading and understanding of schematics.
- Familiarity with quality control processes within the construction industry.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with contractors and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction sites is essential.
- Certification or licensure as a Building Inspector is a plus but not required.
