I.T. Support Specialist / Software Application

About This Opportunity:

Performs complex technical work installing, maintaining, and supporting software applications and related systems. Responsibilities include providing Tier 2 support for key applications, including first-line support for Tyler Technologies applications, managing helpdesk tickets, setting up user accounts, assisting with documentation, and supporting budget planning and purchasing.

Essential Functions:

• Provides Tier 2 support for key applications, particularly Tyler Technologies applications, managing helpdesk tickets in the Jira system, troubleshooting issues remotely, and escalating as needed.
• Sets up and manages user accounts in Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and the phone system, ensuring proper access, security protocol adherence, and compliance with IT policies and standards.
• Monitors and participates in quarterly security training and simulations, promoting security awareness and ensuring compliance among users.
• Assists departments in creating and updating process documentation and IT documentation, identifying opportunities to improve and enhance.
• Provides basic training to end-users on applications and processes, promoting proper usage and minimizing recurring issues.
• Coordinates with vendors and external support for troubleshooting and software updates, as necessary.
• Assists with budget planning and purchasing by gathering information on software needs, licenses, and equipment; Assists in updating and managing the Jira Asset Management inventory system.
• Establishes and maintains positive and collaborative working relationships with other team members and users.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Familiarity with Tyler Technologies applications (e.g., Munis) and Jira, with a strong focus on helpdesk ticket management, issue tracking, and asset inventory management.
• Proficient troubleshooting and technical support skills, with a focus on Tier 2 issue resolution and remote assistance.
• Knowledge of IT security protocols and compliance standards
• Strong organizational skills, including documentation creation, process improvement, and record-keeping for inventory and support tickets.
• Excellent communication skills, with a professional and supportive approach to end-user support and training.
• Ability to work collaboratively within the IT department, build positive relationships with team members and users, and coordinate effectively with vendors.

Education and Experience:

• Associate’s/Technical degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in an IT support role preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and exposure to Munis or similar systems is beneficial but not required.

Special Requirement:

Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of Tennessee.

Physical Requirements:

Frequent sitting, speaking, hearing, and using hands for detailed work are required. Occasional standing, walking, and reaching may be needed, along with the ability to lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.
