Salary                                     CAF-3 $898.47 – $986.19 Weekly

Position Summary: Perform a variety of clerical work in supporting the operations of the DPW Cemetery Office.  Assists in overall administrative requirements and complex duties. 
 
Essential functions: 
·         Provide customer service. 
·         Receive payments in cash and check, balance and post amount to the proper account.  
 
Supervision:  Works under the direction of the Superintendent of the Cemetery.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Process weekly warrants for distribution.
  • Processing of payroll, reconciliation of budgetary line items, creating and tracking purchase orders and processing invoices and bill warrants.
  • Typing of deeds and communicate with Cemetery lot owners.
  • Assist with processing weekly warrants for distribution.
  • Examine documents for accuracy, prepare forms, correspondence and other documents as needed.
  • Prepare Cemetery Office pay roll and reviewing for accuracy daily attendance records.
  • Providing accurate gravesite locations upon request.
  • Managing incoming and outgoing correspondences including opening and sorting daily mail.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence.  
  • Ability to work and communicate well with others.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
 
Education & Experience: 
High School diploma or GED.  Associates Degree or equivalent education preferred.  A minimum of two years of clerical experience required. Municipal experience of one to three years preferred.  
 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge:  Knowledge of clerical experience in an office setting or Municipal experience.
 
Skills: Operate computer equipment and standard office equipment, including computer, telephone, fax machine, calculator, and copy machine.  Professional courtesy and customer service are paramount.
 
Abilities: Ability to interact in a positive and effective manner with personnel at all levels of authority. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, in writing and orally. Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records. Ability to post payments and balance. Ability to handle multiple deadlines simultaneously.
