What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Clerk position at City of Medford?
BASIC FUNCTION : Performs a variety of clerical work to support the operations of the Treasurer / Collector’s office.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED : Works under the direction of the Treasurer / Collector.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Customer service and receiving tax and other municipal payments.
- Receive tax and other municipal payments in cash and check.
- Balance drawers and work daily.
- Assist in processing weekly warrants for distribution.
- Communicate via phone, e-mail and in person for taxpayers' tax services and attorney to provide information relating to billing payments received and account balances.
- Able to work with a high level of detail, prioritize multiple tasks and deal effectively with interruption
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Ability to work and communicate well with others.
- Perform other related duties as required.

HOURS OF WORK : Full-time (35 hours / weekly) Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 8 : 30 AM – 4 : 30 PM; Wednesday 8 : 30 AM – 7 : 30 PM; Friday 8 : 30 AM – 12 : 30 PM.
SALARY : Union CAF-3 ($1,026.85 - $1,127.11)
